Our Story
Bank on Big Frank emerged from a struggle with Michigan's unemployment system. Frustrations with agencies led us to create a supportive platform for people dealing with similar issues with the Diffs Insurance Bureau. Some jobs are simply bad, and in life, you can be let go for any reason. My last job ended due to downsizing, and I collected six weeks of reduced unemployment after being treated poorly by the UIA.I appealed an unemployment benefit decision with DIFS and the UIA after it was reduced due to a provision that impacted the weekly benefit amount. The amount (WBA) is based on quarterly wages, as outlined in the UIA handbook. The amount you receive in unemployment benefits is supposedly calculated by multiplying the highest amount of wages paid to you in any base period quarter by 4.1 percent. This isn’t true of because prior state senators, working with the establishment, eliminated two of the four quarters, According to DIFS Judge Brown, there was never any dispute for full payment, and if those other months had been included, I would have gotten the whole amount. The first eliminated quarter is called the filing quarter, and the second is the lag quarter. You’ll don't receive the any amount from those quarters as long as you qualify for benefits in the 3rd and 4th quarters. It’s bad for workers but great for the state and the establishment, cutting costs at the expense of hardworking Michiganders. I’m just a person like anyone else, we need fewer government job programs that take from the people, and a rebuilt government that truly works for us, not the establishment. My state senator in my district refused to talk to me about the shortage of unemployment benefits, but I guarantee you can always talk personally about your issues.
